Two New Letters

We can find two new letters in the local paper today. Pastor Scott Evans makes a good point when he writes the following:

We live by a double standard. We don't want our children reading "smut," as this has been called, but we allow them to watch movies and listen to music that are worse than anything that you'll find in the library.

Doesn't make you wonder what Tracy and her kids are watching tonight?

Joy Beck is the author of the other letter, Corrected Misconceptions. The following is an excerpt from her letter:

Lastly, at the risk of being politically incorrect, it is not necessary to read a book from cover to cover to ascertain its appropriateness for use in the public schools.

You can guess my opinion about that statement.

The word on the street is that Ms. Dobson has appealed the FHS decision regarding The Kite Runner to the next level.

Now, a SYSTEM-WIDE advisory committee will review the book to determine its literary value and decide if the book should be made available to high school students.

Not a time to roll over and give up!

Beck was a campaign mouthpiece for Buff and Company. She wrote a "series" of letters to the editor slamming the improprieties of the old board and accusing them of being pawns of the superintendent.

Her choice of candidates explains her stand on The Kite Runner.

The Kite Runner wins again! The score was 15-1 with the lone objection coming from the hubby of a school board member.

Will Dobson and Norman go for a third challenge and appeal this latest decision to the skool bored?

Tracy is not watching anything with her sons. She left her husband and children sometime ago. This is why she was out of her district. She failed as a home school teacher and as a role model for her sons. For some reason the News Herald never reported the real reason she was living out of her district. This is the reason for all the debate and expense to make a new map. She is also being accused of altering the new map. She has told people that Todd her husband made her leave. Nothing could be less true. Todd helped her campaign and get elected. She got a taste of a little power and left Todd and her boys. Is this someone that needs to be making decisions about the children of the county.

This just in:

I have heard that the Dobsons have withdrawn their last appeal to the BOE as of today - that The Kite Runner is no longer under assault. Can anyone verify this?
